چکیده

The CSPD-1 y-ray vision system has been constructed for the energy range from 100 keV up to a few MeV, which encompasses most energies of y-ray radiation from the radioactive nuclides of interest t o nuclear facilities. The angular resolution of the system can be varied from about 7" down to 3" FWHM. The energy resolution at 662 keV is 6.8% or 8.9% FWHM depending on which of the two detectors are used. The detected spatial distribution of y-rays is overlayed with the video image taken from a small CCD camera mounted on the side of the collimator. This enables immediate localization of the radioactive area. Some results obtained at the Molten Salt Reactor Experiment (MSRE) a t the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) are reported, and recommended improvements are discussed.

SpdR, a response regulator required for stationary-phase induction of Caulobacter crescentus cspD.

The cold shock protein (CSP) family includes small polypeptides that are induced upon temperature downshift and stationary phase. The genome of the alphaproteobacterium Caulobacter crescentus encodes four CSPs, with two being induced by cold shock and two at the onset of stationary phase. In order to identify the environmental signals and cell factors that are involved in cspD expression at sta...

Escherichia coli toxin/antitoxin pair MqsR/MqsA regulate toxin CspD.

Previously we identified that the Escherichia coli protein MqsR (YgiU) functions as a toxin and that it is involved in the regulation of motility by quorum sensing signal autoinducer-2 (AI-2). Furthermore, MqsR is directly associated with biofilm development and is linked to the development of persister cells. Here we show that MqsR and MqsA (YgiT) are a toxin/antitoxin (TA) pair, which, in sig...

Four-Component Scattering Power Decomposition Algorithm with Rotation of Covariance Matrix Using ALOS-PALSAR Polarimetric Data

The present study introduces the four-component scattering power decomposition (4-CSPD) algorithm with rotation of covariance matrix, and presents an experimental proof of the equivalence between the 4-CSPD algorithms based on rotation of covariance matrix and coherency matrix. From a theoretical point of view, the 4-CSPD algorithms with rotation of the two matrices are identical. Although it s...

Identification and transcriptional control of Caulobacter crescentus genes encoding proteins containing a cold shock domain.

The cold shock proteins are small peptides that share a conserved domain, called the cold shock domain (CSD), that is important for nucleic acid binding. The Caulobacter crescentus genome has four csp genes that encode proteins containing CSDs. Three of these (cspA, cspB, and cspC) encode peptides of about 7 kDa and are very similar to the cold shock proteins of other bacteria. Analysis by reve...
